Tesla Fleet Telemetry setup guide

Check compatibility and follow each step through the first received data.

What is Fleet Telemetry?

Fleet Telemetry is Tesla’s method for streaming data from compatible vehicles to a server. This service organizes received signals into driving and charging records. A signal is sent after its configured interval has elapsed and its value has changed, so updates at fixed intervals are not guaranteed.

Tesla generally requires vehicle software 2024.26 or later; Model S/X with Intel Atom require 2025.20 or later. A paired virtual key is also required. Available fields vary with the vehicle, software, and connectivity.

Quick start

1

Check vehicle requirements

Depending on the vehicle and software, you may need a virtual key or an in-vehicle data-streaming setting.

2

Review Tesla permissions and authorize

Review the requested permissions on the registration page, then authorize with Tesla OAuth. This service does not receive or store your Tesla password.

3

Configure Telemetry and check receipt

A configuration being accepted is different from receiving data. The dashboard shows vehicle signals after they arrive.

Getting started

Create an account

Create an account with Tesla OAuth. After vehicle registration, the 14-day free trial starts when you register a card at checkout. Monthly or yearly billing begins after the trial on your selected plan.

Connect Tesla

Tesla account authorization uses Tesla OAuth. This service does not receive or store your Tesla password. Passwords for email registration are stored as bcrypt hashes.

Dashboard

The dashboard shows received driving distance, energy use, battery status, and other data. Available fields and update times depend on the vehicle, software, Telemetry setup, and connectivity.

Battery health

The service shows a reference trend estimated from rated range and battery level. Temperature and vehicle calibration can affect the estimate; it does not determine an exact battery lifespan or the effects of charging habits.
