Terms of Service

About This Service
TeslaMate JP Pro (the "Service") is a per-vehicle subscription operated by an individual developer, with monthly or yearly billing. A card is required to start the 14-day free trial; billing begins automatically at the selected interval when the trial ends. Battery Health Certificates (PDFs) are sold separately as one-time purchases of JPY 2,980 including tax per certificate.
Article 1 — Scope
These Terms of Service apply to the use of all services provided by TeslaMate JP Pro (the "Service"). Anyone who uses the Service (a "User") shall use the Service only after agreeing to these Terms.
Article 2 — Description of the Service
The Service receives vehicle data through Tesla's Fleet API and visualizes driving history, charging sessions, and vehicle status. Available fields and update timing depend on the vehicle, software, setup, and network.
Vehicle data is stored in a shared PostgreSQL database and separated by tenant_id in application queries. The Service does not provide a dedicated database or Docker container per User and does not use PostgreSQL row-level security (RLS).
The SOH shown on a Battery Health Certificate is a reference estimate based on recorded vehicle data. It is not an official Tesla diagnosis or a guarantee of vehicle or battery performance.
Article 3 — User Registration and Authentication
The Service can be used either (1) by registering with an email address and password, or (2) via OAuth 2.0 authentication through a Tesla account. Email-registration passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. This Service does not receive or store your Tesla account password. Tesla OAuth access tokens are encrypted with AES-GCM before database storage.
Article 4 — Prohibited Conduct
When using the Service, Users shall not engage in any of the following acts.
- Reselling or providing the Service to others without the operator’s permission (recording your own business mileage and allocating expenses is permitted)
- Violating Tesla's API Terms of Use
- Attempting unauthorized access to another User's data
- Placing an excessive load on the Service's server infrastructure
- Decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise reverse-engineering the Service
- Any other act the operator deems inappropriate
Article 5 — Handling of Data
Vehicle data is separated by tenant_id in application queries. Service providers receive the information needed for the features they provide. Visits to the website pass through the Cloudflare proxy and Tunnel. Cloudflare may process the visitor IP address, requested URL, HTTP headers, and submitted content to deliver and secure the website. Tesla Fleet API is used for OAuth, vehicle data retrieval, and Telemetry configuration. Stripe processes payments; card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page. LINE notifications and browser Web Push are sent only when the User links or registers those features. Map views use OpenStreetMap tiles, and route elevation calculations use the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan elevation API. S3 backup storage and operational alert services may be used depending on server configuration. Processing locations vary by provider and operational settings; not all processing necessarily takes place in Japan. Disclosure may also occur with User consent or where required by law.
Article 6 — Changes, Suspension, and Termination of the Service
1. The operator may, without prior notice, make minor feature changes, perform emergency maintenance, or temporarily suspend the Service where unavoidable due to force majeure (including natural disasters, power outages, failures of communication lines or cloud infrastructure, and changes to, restrictions on, or discontinuation of Tesla's API).
2. If the operator permanently discontinues the Service, the operator will, in principle, notify Users no later than 30 days before the discontinuation date, by posting a notice on the Service's website and sending a notice to the User's registered email address.
3. Where the Service is permanently discontinued as described in the preceding paragraph, the operator will refund, on a pro-rata basis, the portion of the User's prepaid fees corresponding to the period during which the Service was not provided.
4. Where the Service becomes unavailable for 72 consecutive hours or more due to a cause attributable to the operator, the operator will refund that month's fee on a pro-rata basis for the period of unavailability, or extend the User's subscription period by a corresponding period.
Article 7 — Cancellation
1. Users may cancel the Service at any time from "Manage Subscription" in the settings screen.
2. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period, and the User may continue to use the Service until the end of that billing period.
3. No pro-rata refund of prepaid fees will be made for cancellation at the User's convenience. However, refunds or extensions of the usage period in the case of permanent discontinuation of the Service or a prolonged outage attributable to the Service are governed by Article 6.
4. If the certificate payment is fully refunded, the certificate is revoked and PDF downloads are disabled. Previously downloaded PDFs no longer verify as valid.
Article 8 — Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
This Service is a subscription service operated by an individual developer, with monthly and yearly billing options. Users shall use the Service only after understanding the disclaimer and limitation of liability set out in this Article.
1. The operator shall not be liable for any damage caused to a User by the following force majeure events.
- Natural disasters, fire, power outages, or other natural disasters or social disturbances
- Failures of communication lines, cloud infrastructure, or other third-party facilities or services
- Changes to, restrictions on, or discontinuation of the Fleet API provided by Tesla, Inc.
- Any other cause beyond the operator's reasonable control
2. Except as set out in the preceding paragraph, where the operator is liable to a User for damages based on breach of contract or tort, such liability is limited to direct and ordinary damages, and the maximum amount of such liability shall be the total amount of fees paid by the User for the Service during the 12 months preceding the occurrence of the damage.
3. Where the operator has acted with intent or gross negligence, the disclaimer and limitation of liability set out in this Article do not apply.
4. Where the operator is only slightly negligent, the operator shall not be liable for lost profits, indirect damages, or damages arising from special circumstances.
5. Notes for Users:
- Data backup: Server failures and similar events may cause a User's vehicle data to be lost or corrupted. Users are encouraged to keep their own backups of important data. The operator's liability for any loss or corruption of data is governed by paragraphs 1 through 4 of this Article.
- Vehicle control: While the Service allows a User to check the status of their vehicle, the Service never directly controls the vehicle. Operation of the vehicle is the User's own responsibility and judgment.
- Accuracy of the Service: The operator does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any data, information, or analysis provided by the Service.
- Disputes with third parties: Any dispute between a User and a third party arising from use of the Service shall be resolved at the User's own expense and responsibility, except where such dispute arises from the operator's intent or gross negligence.
Article 9 — Intellectual Property Rights
The source code, design, logo, and all other intellectual property rights in the Service belong to the operator. Tesla, the Tesla logo, and Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y are trademarks or registered trademarks of Tesla, Inc. The Service is not affiliated with, and is not endorsed or approved by, Tesla, Inc.
Article 10 — Changes to These Terms
The operator may amend these Terms where the change benefits Users generally, or where it does not conflict with the purpose of the contract and is reasonable in light of the need for the change, its content, and other relevant circumstances. When changing these Terms, the operator will specify the changes and their effective date and give notice on this page or by another appropriate method before that date. Material changes will also be notified to registered email addresses. The revised Terms apply from the announced effective date. Where the law requires individual consent, the operator will request it separately.
Article 11 — Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive agreed jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location.
